About me
After completing my studies in cinematography at the Film Academy in Amsterdam, I launched my first production company (Havasu Films (later renamed Smit&Jansen) with my former business partner in 1997, focusing mainly on advertising production.
Over the years, we produced numerous TV commercials for various brands and agencies, leading to the 2006 establishment of MacGyver Amsterdam, a company providing production and post-production services. This was soon followed by the creation of MacGyver Istanbul, which specialised in local commercial productions and line production services.
Managing my own production and post-production companies provided me with invaluable experience in all aspects of film production, client relations, and (post-)production techniques. After departing from my companies in pursuit of new challenges, I began freelancing in screen content production.
In 2014, I co-founded Version Affairs with fellow producer Annemarie Semeijn, offering production and versioning services to the advertising industry. Since Annemarie's departure to explore life beyond advertising, I have taken ownership of Version Affairs.
Recently, I have shifted my focus entirely to brand and agency production, discontinuing separate versioning and transcreation services. However, I still maintain a broad network of skilled transcreators for various languages and markets, which I can leverage to meet localization needs for the campaigns I produce.
